Abstract

Objective:To determine the reliability of strength testing in the different muscle contraction of elbow in young people. Methods:In 28 healthy young people(16 males and 12 females;average age 25.2±7.5 years),isometric, isotonic, and isokinetic strength was measured two times within one week. The indicator of test-retest reliability of joint position was Intraclass Correlation Coefficient(ICC).Results:(1) The test-retest reliability of strength testing was modest in the different muscle contraction of elbow, and the value of ICC was from 0.738 to(0.947);(2) Test-retest reliability of the elbow flexor(ICC was from 0.853 to 0.947) was better than the elbow extensor(ICC was from 0.738 to 0.872).Conclusion:The test-retest reliability of strength testing is good in the elbow of young people, and correlation of the elbow flexor is better than elbow extensor.
