The Comparison of Curative Effect of Mitoxantrone and Daunorubicin on 56 Case of Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Abstract
Objective To estimate the effect difference between effects of which mitoxantrone and daunorubicin on acute myeloid leukemia.Methods 56 inpatients diagnosed as previous acute myeloid leukonia between july 1993 to December 1999,were randomized either to mitoxantrone trioxide(26)or to daunorubicin(30)Results complete response rate in the two groups of patients were 65.4% and 60.0% respectively;while the partial response rate were 19.2% and 26.7%respectively 2 patients were in the group ofmitoxantrone died early;1 patient was in the group of daunorubicin died early.The main side-effect of mitoxantrone was bone marrow deprssion.The non-bone marrow side-effect was apparently harmful to the liver. Conclusion The curative effect of mitoxantrone and daunorubicin in chemotherapy to treat acute myeloid leukemia was alike.
