Abstract
With the increasing popularity of air-conditioning,building energy consumption is rapidly increasing. Ground source heat pump as a new technology of buildings heating and cooling,not only protects the environment but also saves energy. With high energy conversion efficiency and low operating costs it improves building heat conditions in the hot summer and cold winter areas. The article introduces the classification and characteristics of ground source heat pump,lists the development of ground source heat pump system in the United States,Canada,Switzerland and other countries. It also analyzes the development prospects of ground source heat pump in China. At last the comparison is made between ground source heat pump and central air-conditioning in common host setting,operation efficiency,control systems and so on.
