Abstract
The purpose of this study was to summarize the development of swimming flume and the investigations executed on it in the world.The physiological research in the flume mainly included the evaluation of aerobic capacity,anaerobic capacity and efficiency of swimming technique of swimmers,while the biomechanical studies focused on both dynamics and kinetics respectively.In the meantime,this paper also introduced the specific sprint and power training in the flume environment.In the future,more research needed to be done in the area of combining swimming technique with physical fitness research.After understanding the swimming process through physiological measurement,the efficiency of training method can be deeply studied.
