Abstract

The effects of the basic media, the types and concentrations of plant hormones on callus induction of gerbera leaves were studied in order to develop the gerbera tissue culture system and drive its young plants industrialization. The results showed that MS medium was the best on callus induction, induction rate was 78.3%;2,4-D was faster on callus induction than NAA and IBA,thereinto, the medium of (1.0) mg/L 2,4-D was the highest, its induction rate was 100%,and leaves formed more callus.6-BA had better effect than KT and TDZ,the induction effect of 2.0 mg/L 6-BA was 89.7%.Leaves had the highest induction rate of callus on the medium of MS+6-BA 2.5 mg/L+2,4-D 0.5 mg/L+NAA 0.4 mg/L.These calli grew fast.Adventitious buds could be obtained from these calli quite well.
