CLINIC OBSERVATION ON THE INTRAVITREAL INJECTION WITH TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE IN TREATMENT OF MACULAR EDEMA

Abstract

[Objective]To evaluate the effect of intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide in treating macular edema.[Methods]72 cases(78eyes)were treated with triamcinolone acetonide injected into vitreous cavity. Then Best spherical corrected visual acuity(BSCVA),fundus and macular thickness were compared before and 6 months after treatment.[Results]BSCVA was significantly improved,macular edema was lessened,and macular thickness was significantly decreased postoperatively(P = 0.000),but some complications occurred in a few cases.[Conclusion]Intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide is a effective method in treatment of macular edema,but complications should be guarded against.
