Struggle between Self and Ego, between Ego and Superego——An Analysis on Lady Shafei's Psychological Condition from Freud's Depth Psychology

Abstract

Freud's depth psychology theories were used to analyze the struggle and conflict between Shafei's self and ego, between her ego and superego when she was with Ling Ji-shi. Shafei's complicated state of mind in refusing and accepting love was also analyzed. The various factors behind the final submit of Shafei's ego were scouted in the paper.
