COMMENT ON INDEX EVALUATION SYSTEM FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Regional sustainable development has been the focus of current geographic research.The sustainable development index system is the key part of it.The current status of research,and the research methods of sustainable development indicator system are analyzed.The indicator and the ways dealing with indicator system are also discussed.The problems existing in the research process are summed up and a thoroughly clean up of the indicator system is made,which will be helpful to promote the development of sustainable development theory.It is concluded that the regional sustainable development indicator system can be built on the base of four kinds of indicators,requirement satisfying,resource limitation,environment value and fine future,which can be unified to one integrated indicator.
