Abstract
Traffic congestion brings travel time delay, extra fuel consumption, environmental damage and an additional traffic accidents and other external costs, the model to estimate traffic congestion external costs has been developed by some research institutions at home and abroad, and certain results were achieved, but only in time costs and the cost of fuel consumption estimates. In this paper, more comprehensive estimation model was constructed based on previous research, and the ecological-economic loss caused by traffic congestion in Beijing was assessed to help improve urban traffic congestion and energy conservation.
