Abstract

The genetic diversity was studied by the method of RAPD among 12 races of bees in China- Bee I of highly producing honey and propolis,American_Italian bee,Apis mellifera L,Apis mellifera ssp,Apis mellifera carnicc,Apis mel- lifera carpatica,Apis mellifera carpatica,Australia_Italian bee,Apis mellifera L from NanChang of JiangXi,Apis mellifera L from JiangShan of ZheJiang,Apis mellifera L from GuangZhou,Apis cerana cerana from GuangZhou.Fourteen random primers were used in the Random Amplified Poly- morphic DNA(RAPD) analysis of the 12 kinds of bees.Among the fourteen random primers, twelve primers had obviously special bands in those bees.It was polymorphic for 51 of 86 bands produced by the random primers. The polymorphic percent was 59.4%.Each primer could amplify 2 to 7 poly- morphic bands, with an average of 4 bands.According to Nei' S formula, the relative genetic distance was counted. A phylogenetic tree was constructed by the UPGMA program based on the genetic distance among the 12 kinds of bees. The genetic distance among bees varied from 0,074 to 0,667,the results matched with the actuality of those bees.
