Abstract

By water modeling the optimal plan for baffle of the asymmetrical five strand tundish has been determined and law of distribution of inner flow field and temperature field of the tundish studied by application of numerical simulation.Results show that since optimization the flow field and temperature field of the tundish tend to be consistent and uniform and the internal structure inside each strand is of high uniformity and the internal quality of the bloom is excellent and they can basically meet the product quality requirements and production demand.
