Abstract

Objective The combination of transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) and color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) appraised the unilateral severe carotid artery stenosis or occlusion of the intracranial circulation impact. Methods The suspected patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease were 1126, of which 67 cases with one side of the internal carotid artery severe stenosis or occlusion diagnosed by CDFI used TCD to detect intracranial arterial flow velocity, the Willis ring and the ophthalmic artery collateral and opening up. Results CDFI showed that stenosis at peak flow velocity and diastolic flow velocity increased significantly. TCD showed that: ① lesion side of the middle cerebral artery flow velocity was obviously lower than the healthy side.② Willis Group Central compensatory ipsilateral MCA flow velocity was obviously higher than internal and external carotid collateral compensatory group. ③ ACoA negatively correlated with the occurrence of stroke. Conclusion TCD and CDFI union could fully observe the hemodynamic change of entire carotid artery system, and provide a reliable basis for the next step treatment.
