Abstract

For landscape and structural safety,it is difficult to design fire-fighting access among some multi-story buildings by the requirements of current fire codes.This causes the difficulty of firefighting and rescue because of the difficulty for the entrance of fire engines.With regard to this problem,a headquarter is used as an example and some enhancements of fire fighting facilities such as automatic fire alarm system,outside hydrant system and pluralistic fire station are proposed in this paper.The fire development of the whole buildings is studied by numerical simulation.By analysis of the impact of the fire on persons and buildings nearby,the effectiveness of the enhancements is investigated.
