Abstract
The Chinese is a nation advocating elegance.The inclination for elegance had been an important aesthetic category and standard of literary criticism since the acient times.This article discourses the different aesthetic tastes of elegance between Confucianism and Taoism:One takes righteous as elegace while the other prefers leisure.Further discusses of the essential features and the writing requirement of elegance are also involved in the article.
