Abstract
Objective To study the relationship between nitric oxide(NO) and spinal edema after acute spinal cord injury. Methods The experimental rats were formed the spinal cord injury model by Allen's impact methods. NO content, nitric oxide synthase(NOS) activities and moisture content of spinal cord tissue at various period after actue spinal cord injury were observed. Results NO content, NOS activities and moisture content of spinal cord tissue increased after actue spinal cord injury. \{Conclusion\} The mechanism of spinal edema is related to level of NO, NO may partially be involed in pathogenesis is spinal cord injury.\;
