A THEORY OF ECO CIVILIZATION is a creative inquiry into the development of human civilization from the view point of ecology. The author thinks that the present formation of human civilization must be transformed, and man in the coming age will inevitably be going to the eco civilization which is characterized by the ecologization of the mode of thought, of the pattern of development and of the way of consumption; and that the new civilization fills some new factor into the true, the good and the beautiful pursued by man for a long time. The realization of eco civilization depends on the widespread participation of both the elite and the mass in its construction.
