Abstract
The quantification of acupuncture manipulation is a very important aspect in acupuncture studies, which represents the future direction for the development of acupuncture. We reviewed the records of the quantification of acupuncture about the key factors such as the needle depth,reinforcing- reducing, needle sensation and needle retaining time in successive dynasties of classical documents in order to provide a theoretical foundation for the acupuncture quantification research from the aspect of classical literature.
