Second Joint Statement on East Asia Cooperation and East Asian Community Building

The Second Joint Statement on East Asia Cooperation, adopted at the 10th anniversary of East Asian cooperation, provides guiding principles for regional cooperation and community building. In the last decade, East Asian cooperation made significant achievements in the strengthening of political will, the construction of norms, and the widening and deepening of functional cooperation. However, in the regional integration and community building process, disagreements, problems and challenges also emerge. East Asian integration is at a crossroad.
