Abstract

The essay provides a rough investigation into Lou Wensheng’s life experience, and also traced back to all the descriptions concerning flies in the literature history, presenting various images that had been created by all the writers before. Thereafter, the essay probes into how The Pity on the Autumn Flies had been composed and presented. Under this background and through comparisons of all the descriptions by early or later generations, the essay discusses the status and the merits of The Pity on the Autumn Flies and thus makes the conclusion: The Pity on the Flies is one of the two masterpieces on flies in the literature history.
