Abstract
Two different types of Fe-6.5 %Si alloy magnetic powders are prepared with a planetary ball mill and a vibrating ball mill separately. The effects of milling conditions such as milling time,ball/powder weight ratio, dry milling and wet milling etc.on the refinement rate of the magnetic powder are discussed. Results show that the grain size decreases with increase of the milling time. The milling time can be shortened and milling efficiency be raised by adoption of the wet milling ball.Under the similar conditions the efficiency of the vibrating milling is higher than that of the planetary mill.
