Abstract
The entomopathogenic fungus, Paecilomyces fumosoroseus, infecfs numerous insect pests. In the present paper, the encouraging progress and achievements worldwide in research and application of the fungus during the past decade were reviewed on aspects of host range, biology, secondary metabolites, genetic variability, natural occurrence, virulence, and formulation. The experience with the use of P.fumosoroseus for whitefly control in western countries could facilitate the utilization of the fungus as microbial control agent in China.
