Abstract
The graft copolymer is synthesized by grafting 2,3-epoxypropyltrimethl ammonium chloride onto chitosan with ammonium cerium nitrate as initiator. The main factors that affect the grafting are discussed and the results show that the optimum grafting conditions are as follows: the mass ratio of chitosan/ETA 1:3,80℃,concentration of initiator 0.5mmol/L,pH7,the reaction time 10hr.Finally,the produce of graft copolymer of 2,3-epoxypropyltrimethl ammonium chloride onto chitosan is further confirmed by IR spectrogram.
