Survey on Demands of Community Health Services for the Elderly in the city of Nantong

Objective:To investigate the demands of community health services for the elderly. Methods: Information was collected by face-to-face interview and analyzed by descriptive statistics. Results: 26.2% older people want to have health files, 25.3% older people hope health staff provide home-services,14.5% older people need rehabilitation services after being discharged from hospital, 21.7% older people need health education, 32.6% older people need regular health test in community,11.8% older people need telephone consulting services, 9.1% older people need home care, and 67.3% older people want to live at home. Conclusions: It's necessary to increase the awareness of community health service and to enhance knowledge and acceptance of community health service among the elderly.
