Abstract

Based on the interlayer space of montmorillonite being a two-dimensional nano-space and its expansible thickness,polyaniline/montmorillonite nanocomposite materials were prepared by using the methods of organic-intercalation,inserting of the aniline monomer and in-situ polymerization.Structures, thermal stabilities, conductivity and synthesis mechanisms of nanocomposite materials samples were investigated by using XRD,FTIR,TG-DSC,SEM and four-point resistance probes instruments. The results showed that layers of montmorillonite samples were peeled off and dispersed after in-situ polymerization of aniline monomer in the interlayer space when the weight ratio of organic-intercalation montmorillonite and aniline was lower than 0.3.Compared with pure polyaniline, the heat stability of samples was high. The highest conductivity of nanocomposite reached 2.34 S/cm when the weight ratio of organic-intercalation montmorillonite and aniline was 0.09.
