Abstract

Under solution culture condition, the length of root, the number of lateral roots, and root activity of seedling from different rape varieties were determined, and the kinetic parameters of nitrate uptake by oil rape seedling were also determined under normal supplying nitrogen,at the same time, the absorbing nitrogen amount and nitrogen physiological efficiency were compared. The results indicated that the obvious differences exist among the three different oil rape varieties in the length of root, the number of lateral roots, root activity, the affinity to NO3——N,the maximum absorbing rate, single plant biomass, absorbing nitrogen amount and nitrogen physiological efficiency.Under the stressed N condition,Xiang-You15 has the more length of root, more numbers in lateral root and higher root activity, and therefore the higher affinity capability to NO3——N.Except for the maximum absorbing rate, root activity, the affinity capability to NO3——N,the length of root and the lateral root numbers of variety 742 were not higher than that of other oil rape varieties.
