Abstract
The radar electromagnetic wave is able to propagate to a far fetch with a low attenuation in the evaporation duct which appears on the sea frequently, just like in the metal pipeline,so radar can be used to realize the overthe-horizon detection. In order to check up the correlativity of the parameter of the over-the-horizon detection such as distant and the intensity of the signal, etc.and the real evaporation duct, high precision device for atmospheric duct test is used, also use radar which at the bank to detect at the same time. The result shows that radar is able to actualize over-the-horizon detection in the evaporation duct condition, and the distant of detection and the signal intensity are relative to the characteristic parameters of the evaporation duct.
