Abstract

Acrylamide(AM) was graft polymerized onto polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) using K2S2O8 as initiator and polyvinyl alcohol grafting polyacrylamide(PVA-g-PAM) was synthesized, then PVA-g-PAM was demoted into polyvinyl alcohol grafting polyvinyl ammonium(PVA-g-PVAM) by Hoffman degradation, and a new polycation membrane material with high density charge was obtained. The chemical structure of PVA-g-PAM and PVA-g-PVAM were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR);the surface morphology of the membrane of PVA-g-PVAM was observed by scanning electron microscope(SEM);the thermal stability of PVA-g-PVAM and conductivity of its aqueous solution were measured. The influence of reaction temperature and reaction time, monomer dosage, initiator dosage on grafting ratio of the graft copolymer was investigated.Experimental results show that under the conditions of 75℃,3h,c(AM)=6.75mol/L and c(K2S2O8)=0.08mol/L,the grafting ratio reaches 62%.
