"Starting from the Trifles"——On Practice and Ideological Orientation of Zhou Zuoren's Writings

Zhou Zuoren proposed the principle of starting from the trifles in writing, directing against orthodoxy literature which advocated promoting the feudal moralism and paid no consideration into nature and life. This tradition not only ignores the emotion of common people, but also disables the Chinese intellectual to face the social reality. In this sense, the principle of starting from the trifles of Zhou Zuoren's writings can be treated as a life and emotion care of the common people rather than an issue between taste and knowledge.
