Abstract

Communitarianism is an important trend of political philosophy to supplement and consummate the western liberalism.The western communitarianism influenced by the ancient political philosophy holds the view that the politics is a public being far from violence and coercion,which can be realized through rational dialogue and for the most ordinary people to participate in.On the freedom,the western communitarianism persists the situated freedom,and advocates self-realization in the recognition from the significant others.On the democracy,the western communitarianism holds the view that the public sphere can help to coordinate the social democracy and the political democracy.On the right,the western communitarianism opposes the hollow right without good,and maintains the moral basis behind the right and so we can continue the modern public life.
