Effect of Acupuncture Treatment on Knee Osteoarthritis:A Clinical Observation of 45 Cases

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of acupuncture treatment on knee osteoarthritis.Methods: Eighty-six patients with knee osteoarthritis patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,63 knees in each group.Patieng in the treatment group were treated with acupuncture treatment,while those in the control group took celecoxib capsule and Glucosamine sulfate tablet;the treatment course was three weeks.The TCM syndrome score and WOMAC score were observed to evaluate the curative effect and safety.Results: Symptoms score and WOMAC score of two groups were reduced than before,the differences were statistically significant(P0.05 or P0.01),and the improvement in treatment group was better than that of control group(P0.05);the total effective ratio in the treatment group is 90.5%,and the total effective ratio in the control group is 84.4%;the curative effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P0.05);there was no obvious adverse reaction.Conclusion: Acupuncture can provide better effect and safty for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis and relieve the symptoms of knee osteoarthritis,such as pain.
