Abstract

As a product of modern industry, and as a kind of narration beyond races or languages, movies are bound to be the best medium that expresses human consciousness. This paper attempts to introduce to readers, via three types of movies, i. e. science - fiction movies, movies of war and movies unveiling relations between mankind and nature, how human consciousness is uniquely manifested in contemporary movies, which is likewise reflected but expressed differently in literary works. In addition, the paper points out that it is highly necessary for Chinese movie makers to make up for lack of human consciousness in their creations and to broaden their vision in this era of Global Village.
