Abstract
Zhang Tianyi was one of the most famous satirical novelists in China. His novels were deeply influenced by Dickens in creating concept, shaping characters, humorous and ironic styles. At the same time, he achieved the inheritance and transcendence based on China's social reality and the solid foundation of the national literature. Just in the conversation between the ancient and the modern, the Chinese and the foreign, Zhang Tianyi drew on a variety of nutrition effectively, which makes his works possessing both traditional characteristics of the nation and lively modernity. His successful acceptance from Dickens provides us a useful reference for accepting the foreign literature and culture.
