Abstract
Macropahges originate from blood monocytes and can differentiate into classically activated macrophages(M1) and alternatively activated macrophages(M2) under different stimulus. As far as we know,tumor-associated macrophages(TAM) was thought to resemble M2-polarized macrophages. The tumor patients whose tumor tissues were infiltrated by lots of TAM were believed to have poor prognosis, and TAM can promote tumor angiogenesis and metastasis by diverse molecular mechanisms. Here,we review the molecular mechanisms that TAM promote tumor angiogenesis and metastasis.
