Abstract
Objective: To provide scientific basis for clinical safety and control applications by establishing the quality control specification of Daucus carota seed.Methods: Collected Daucus carota seed samples in 10 batches of different origins,identified its original plant,described its characteristics and took microscopic identification of the powder;Determined the impurities,moisture,total ash,acid-insoluble ash and extract of these 10 batches Daucus carota seeds 2010 version(Vol Ⅰ) of appendix Ⅸ H and K and The essential oil determination method of Daucus carota seed and the essential oil determination method of Daucus carota seed according to Chinese Pharmacopoeia.Results: The origins,macroscopic and microscopic identification of Daucus carota seed are described,temporarily formulating impurities shall not exceed 3.0%,moisture shall not exceed 11.0%,total ashes shall not exceed 21.0%,acid-insoluble ashes shall not exceed 6.0%,extract shall not less than 5.0%.Determine the essential oil of Daucus carota shall not less than 0.50%(mL/g).Conclusion: The Daucus carota seed quality control standard can be used to evaluate the quality of Daucus carota seed.
