Abstract

The desire for feudal official is an essential aspect of MENG Hao\|ran’s thought. There were subjective and objective causes in the formation of Meng Hao\|ran’s desire for becoming a feudal official, including influence of Confucianism, self\|confidence in his ability and political integrity, stimulation of well\|known people in Xiangyang, encouragement of the flourishing Tang Dynasty and influence of his friends.
