Abstract

Sedimentary facies analysis on glutenite was a big challenge in Weizhou Oilfield NO.2 belt sandy conglomerate in fan delta reservoir of northern gulf basin in South China Sea, FMI ( Formation Microresistivity Image ) could be used to identify accurately the lithofacies, sedimentary structure, rock texture and sedimentary rhythm and other sedimentary indications for a long interval. Core calibration and classification were used to establish FMI chartboart and indications of sedimentary microfacies, under the supervision of the micro-facies, current beddings reflecting the palaeocurrent characters are chosen to study palaeocurrent after structural dip is calibrated for the current beddings. The method is used successfully for studying the sedimentary facies, sand-body superimposition and internal structure in the Weizhou Oilfield
