Abstract
LUO Cong-yan,a famous philosopher of the North Song Dynasty,inherited the thoughts of CHENG Yi,CHENG Hao and YANG Shi,which were characterized by strong reality and criticism.He put forward a series of political suggestions aiming at the corrupt rule during the last period of the Song Dynasty,i.e.admonishing the emperor,which put emphasis on the emperor's cultivating himself and loving the people;secluding the mean person,which put emphasis on the emperor's strengthening and guarding himself;being cautious,which made sure that the emperor was aware of any emergency;attaching importance to talents,which meant the emperor should be good at utilizing talents.LUO Cong-yan objected to the social reform,showing the conservative side of his thoughts that we should realize correctly and objectively.
