Abstract
Guangdong is lack of primary energy, and the development of nuclear power plants is an inevitable choice for the security of energy supply. It is estimated that the installed capacity of nuclear power plants in Guangdong will be about 30000MW by the year of 2020.Based on Power System Planning,a peaking balance analysis is conducted. The result reveals that there is peaking gap both in 2015 and 2020.After a detailed discussion of the load following ability of nuclear power plants, the conclusion is reached that nuclear power plants will participate peak load regulation by week in 2015 and day by day in 2020.
