Abstract
Anticancer and antioxidant activities of 5 fractions(petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate,1-butanol,water) of ethanol extract of Lindera strychnifolia were investigated. The results of anticancer assay show that petroleum ether fraction has the strongest cytotoxic activity on 4 human cancer cell lines tested.HepG2(IC50:(71.9±1.1) mg·L-1) is most vulnerable to the cytotoxic effect of petroleum ether fraction. And the petroleum ether fraction induces apoptosis in HepG2.The results of antioxidant assay show that the ethyl acetate fraction exhibits strongest antioxidant activity among all the samples of Lindera strychnifolia.
