Historical Overview of Urban Transportation Policies and Planning Development in the United States

Abstract

With almost a hundred years'development,the urban transportation planning in United States has made great achievements,including the fundamental theory research and application of advanced technologies.Under the background of urban social and economic development,this paper analyzes U.S.urban transportation planning development with the consideration of policies,government organizations and planning technologies,etc.Finally,some suggestions are provided to improve our urban transportation planning activities in China.
