Abstract

XML has become the standard for data representation and exchange for Web applications.In this paper,we introduce primary concepts and development status about XML querying techniques.We make further research and analysis of xml data storage,xml coding scheme and xml index technology which influence the xml query efficiency.And we compare the basic ideas,the strengths and weaknesses of the existing techniques.
