Abstract
Objective To observe the hemodynamic change of cerebral artery in type 2 diabetes. Methods Transcranial doppler was used to measure the max flow velocities(Vmax) and the resistance index(RI) of cerebral artery of 13 diabetic patients and 13 age, blood pressure matched non diabetics. Results Vmax of cerebral artery were not significantly different between diabetic patients and non diabetics. The RI of anterior and middle cerebral antery in diabetic patients were significantly higher than those controls(P0.05).The RI of left vertebroartery was significantly different between two groups(P0.01).The RI was related with diabetic course. Conclusion Type 2 diabetes has an effect on hemodynamics of cerebral artery,RI is a useful marker for the detection of diabetic hemodynamic change of cerebral artery.
