In the Han Dynasty,the evolution of the social status of experienced a tortuous process,but the trend was constantly increased.Early Western Han Dynasty,from Emperor Han Gaozu's Belittling businessmen to Emperor Wendi and Emperor Jingdi's Benefiting businessmen,the social status of gradually improved.Next Emperor Han Wudi's Restricting caused the majority of to go bankrupt,so the status suffered a disastrous decline,but part of actually sat the senior official and the status was very honorable.The social status of was in the two extremes.After Emperor Han Wudi,because the policy was gradually loosed,businessmen,landlords and bureaucrats unified day by day,and businessmen's social status had a bigger enhancement till Eastern Han Dynasty.So their social status in the Han Dynasty closely linked with the business policy at that time.
