The Effect of the Dexamethasone Treatment on Trigeminal Neuralgia

Objective:To observe the efficacy of short-range dexamethasone treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia.Methods:40 patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia were divided into control group with 16 cases and study group with 24 cases.All received pharmacotherapy and acupuncture treatment.control group received Carbamazapine,study group received dexamethasone.using visual analogy pain score method(VAS) before and after treatment were in and after half a year to evaluate,observed treatment patients after facial pain relief rate.Results:The efficient of two groups were 91.7% and 75.0%,the difference of total effectiveness have significantly statistical significance(P0.05),the curative effect of dexamethasone short-range treatment is better than an oral carbamazepine.Conclusions:Dexamethasone short-range treatment shows good effect,and low cost of treatment,no obvious adverse reaction appear,which is valuable in clinical application.
