Comparison of Teleogryllus Emma Spermatozon Acrosome Reaction in Vitro

Abstract

The morphological ultrastructure variation during the acrosome reaction of spermatozoa cricket in Teleogryllus emma (Ohmachi et Matsumura), in the spermathecas and testes respectively are investigated with inducement method of same-species egg water solution (EWS). The sperm acrosome complex generally possesses three-layer structures, i.e., extra-acrosome layer, acrosome and perforatorium. The process of the acrosome reaction consists of several stages, i.e., the front of the extra-acrosome layer swelling and acrosome extending forward, the extra-acrosome layer and acrosome outer membrane fusing and vesiculating, as well as the acrosome falling and a short perforatorium remaining on the top of the nucleus. Compared with the acrosome complex structures of the sperm between the spermatheca and thestis, there are haven't any differentence in the structures.
