Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of neclear factor?κBp65(NF?κBp65),vascular endothelia growth factor(VEGF)and microvessel density(MVD) in human gastric carcinoma, and to study the relationship among expression of NF?κBp65,VEGF and MVD and their significance in human gastric carcinoma. Methods Sixty two patients with gastric carcinoma who underwent surgical resection from 1997 to 2002 were followed up .Expression of NF?κBp65,VEGF and MVD were examined by S?P immunohistochemistry in 62 archival paraffin embedded gastric carcinoma tissue specimens and 35 patients of control. The relationship among expression of NF?κBp65,VEGF and MVD in human gastric carcinoma and control group were analyzed by SPSS 10.0 version software. Results The expression of NF?κBp65,VEGF were obviously higher in gastric carcinoma group than that in the control group(62.9% versus 17.1%,51.6% versus 11.4%,respectively,all P 0.001).The difference between expression of NF?κBp65、VEGF and MVD in different stages of gastric carcinoma were significant(all P 0.05).The expression of NF?κBp65 was significantly correlated with VEGF( r =0.593, P 0.001).The expression of VEGF and MVD were significantly higher in lymph node metastases group than that in no lymph node metastases group(all P 0.05).The expression of NF?κBp65 and VEGF were highly correlated with MVD ,which was significantly higher in the NF?κBp65(+) group and VEGF (+) group(all P 0.001).Conclusion The expression of NF?κBp65,VEGF and MVD are associated with the different stages of gastric carcinoma, lymph node metastases and prognose.Expression of NF?κBp65and VEGF are highly correlated with MVD.The relationship among NF?κBp65,VEGF and MVD indicates that NF?κBp65,VEGF may play an important role in occurrence and metastases of gastric carcinoma.
