Abstract
[Objective]To evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of ELISA and TRUST applied in syphilis detection,so as to identify the optimal method of screening of blood donors.[Methods]Taking TPPA as the golden standard method of syphilis detection, the sensitivity and specificity of ELISA and TRUST were evaluated.[Results]Among the 23689 blood donors,322 samples were positive with syphilis, the positive rate was 1.359%.The sensitivity and specificity of TRUST were 40.62% and 99.18%,respectively.While the sensitivity and specificity of ELISA respectively were 98.45% and 99.88%.[Conclusions]ELISA can be used as an ideal method of syphilis screening before blood transfusion or operation, and it can improve safety of blood transfusion.
