Abstract

The microstructure and friction\|wear characteristics of brush\|plated nickel matrix composite coatings containing nano alumina particles (n\|Al\-2O\+p\-3/ Ni) were studied compared to quick brush\|plated nickel coating. Results showed that there were less surface roughness and more compact structure in the n\|Al\-2O\+p\-3/ Ni composite coatings. Friction coefficient of composite coatings slightly increased with the increasing of nano\|particles in the brush\|plating solution. n\|Al\-2O\-3 particles were dispersed in the composite coatings, which combined well to the Ni matrix. Anti\|wear of composite coating was obviously superior to the Ni coating. The best wear resistance of composite coating was obtained with 20g/L n\|Al\-2O\-3 in brush\|plating solution.
