Abstract
[ Objective ]To explore the influencing factors and the relationship between occupational stress and work ability. [ Methods ] 497 workers in 3 different plants located in Guangzhou Economic Development Area filled The Occupational Stress Questionnaires ( OSQ ) and the Working Ability Index Questionnaires ( WAI). [ Results ] The WAI was 36.48 ± 4.46 in the females and 36.13 ± 4.29 in the males (P 0.05 ) .The score related to job demands in the females was significantly higher than that in the males (P 0.0.5 ). The work ability correlated with the ability coping with stress, understanding oneself, interest, respecting others, confidence, mental equanimity, the mental satisfactory as well. [ Conclusion ] The occupational stress could decrease the work ability of workers.
