Abstract
Objective The aim of this study is to investigate the prevalence and ECG features of idiopathic ventricular tachycardia and the effects of radiofrequency catheter ablation. Methods One hundred and twenty-seven patients with idiopathic ventricular tachycardias were studied by the age, gender, orginating sites, features of ECG, the inducing rates, successful ablation rate and recurrence rates, as well as reasons of failure of radiofrequency abla- tion or recurrence. Results Idiopathic ventricular tachycardia is common in younger patients, left ventricul tachy- cardia is much more than right ventricular tachycardia, 11.8% of cases were confirmed with 1:1 retmgrate ventricu- loatrial conduction during tachycardia, the ratio of gender is 1.0:1.3 (male/female) in the right ventricular tachycar- dia, the average axis deviation of QRS complex is ( -88.51 ±43.73)°, the inducing rate is 90.2%, the success- ful rate of ablation is 85.4%. The ratio of gender is 8.6:1 (male/female)in the left ventricular tachycardia, the av- erage axis deviation of QRS complex is ( + 82.96 ±26.18) °, the inducing rate is 96.5%, the successful rate of ab- lation is 93.0%. Conclusion Radiofrequency catheter ablation is an effective technique in the treatment of idiopathic ventricular tachycardia with high successful rate and low occurrence of complication, it can be selected as the first line treatment in patients with idiopathic ventricular tachycardia.
